The Darrenwood Residents Association (DRA) is a registered nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the safety and security of our community. We focus specifically on the Darrenwood neighborhood north of Republic Road, where a road closure system has been established to deter crime and promote peace of mind for residents.
Who We Serve
The secured area includes a mix of properties:
- 🟢 Inside the boom – homes fully enclosed within the road closure area.
- 🟡 Borderline properties – homes with driveways inside the boom but boundary walls extending outside.
- 🔵 Outside the boom – nearby homes that lie just beyond the physical closure but still benefit from proximity.
Even homes outside or on the edge of the boom may benefit from:
- 👮 Security patrol visibility
- 👁️🗨️ Line of sight and deterrence from boom guards
- 💬 Access to our security-focused WhatsApp group (Darrenwood Watch)
Our Mission
We exist to:
- ✅ Manage and renew the municipal road closure permit
- ✅ Fund and oversee security operations (guards, boom access points, and camera systems)
- ✅ Foster a safe, inclusive, and cooperative environment for all residents within our area
Our efforts are funded by voluntary monthly contributions from households within the secured area. Every contribution strengthens the effectiveness of our shared safety network.
